About Escape Tour texel

In the year 1669, the beautiful island of Texel was an important port of departure and landing for the V.O.C. When the weather did not allow them to go out on the oceans, the sailors bivouacked on the island, which of course included many parties. Michiel de Ruyter also liked to party on Texel, as the story of this extraordinary Escape Tour shows.


Michiel's favourite place for a party was the inn where Neeltje Bakker worked behind the bar. After an exuberant night of partying, Neeltje, despite being married to Cornelis, became pregnant by Michiel de Ruyter. The love between Neeltje and Cornelis was unbreakable and therefore they were both furious with Michiel. They decided not to kill Michiel, but to steal his most personal possessions! Michiel discovered the theft and opened a hunt for the couple.

Escape the city

With the Escape Tour Texel you follow in the footsteps of Neeltje and Cornelis and try to leave Texel unseen within 2 hours. Using the app, you will wander across part of the island and past various villages, looking for clues. If you complete all the tasks in this city game correctly, the clues will lead you to the secret location where you can escape from the island. The search starts at Vogelenzang 21 in Den Burg, good luck!

By bicycle or car

The Escape Tour Texel is not like all the other Escape Tours. In fact, you do not wander through one town, but through several villages. The route is approximately 16 kilometers long. This makes the Escape Tour not suitable for walking! So take the bike, scooter or car and explore the island in a different way. But beware, in order to complete the tasks you sometimes have to leave the vehicle and continue on foot.
