Frau Troffea was an inconspicuous presence in Strasbourg. Since she was 17, she had worked as a waitress in the city's most important inn, where mainly merchants and nobility could be found. In 1518 Troffea decided to change course and think more about herself. Dancing, she was good at. And before she knew it, she was dancing in the middle of the centre. It was not long before people started to join her. It became a real folk festival that lasted for months, to the displeasure of the city authorities. People who dance non-stop should be locked up in the madhouse. That was the sign for Troffea to flee the city!
