At the beginning of the 19th century, Madrid is in the grip of the notorious bandit Luis Candelas. With his very charming appearance, he easily enters the homes of the rich. Before they realize they have been robbed, the crook is long gone from sight. Sometimes Luis was caught, but each time he managed to escape again. But just now Luis has done something, which may cost him his head....
Luis has just robbed the queen's tailor. All her beautiful clothes have disappeared... King Joseph Bonaparte is furious and decides that the bandit must go to the scaffold. The city is sealed off and the king orders 300 of his best men to track Luis down. Luis has once heard something about a secret exit. Quickly he sets out to find clues to the location.
