About Escape Tour lubeck
In late 1806, Joachim Murat, Napoleon Bonaparte's brother-in-law, came to power in the German Hanseatic city of Lübeck. In an attempt to prove himself to the "Emperor of the French," Murat went completely crazy. For example, women in Lübeck were not safe when he was around, and he was convinced that events in his life were caused by supernatural forces.
It soon became clear that the population was better off with the man who had driven Murat out of the city (no sweetheart either, by the way). Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher heeded the call and drummed up his fifteen thousand men to leave in the direction of the city. This was the sign for Murat to pull out!
