In 1826, Johannes Lehmkuhl arrives in Kampen from Bremen. Together with four loyal servants, he starts the city's first cigar factory. His craftsmanship and fragrant tobacco quickly lead to success. But that success also arouses jealousy.
Berend Goosen, a cunning businessman, opens his own factory: De Olifant. What starts as admiration turns into envy. Goosen tolerates no competition and wants to get rid of Johannes. Johannes overhears a threatening conversation in an alley and fears for his life. To make matters worse, he suspects that one of his own servants is working with Goosen. But who?
Escape the city
