About Escape Tour
On a cold evening in 1719, Princess Maria Clementina Sobieska is imprisoned in the Hofburg in Innsbruck. The daughter of the Polish king is engaged to James Stuart, the Scottish pretender to the throne. Emperor Charles VI, however, is determined to prevent this marriage at all costs and has Clementina imprisoned as a result. But Clementina refuses to be a pawn in the political intrigue. Her motto: It is time to act, time to flee!
Disguised as a maid, she sneaks out of the Habsburg residence. Now her escape through the city begins. A short while later, Otto, a coachman, learns of her plan. He wants to help her escape, but there’s a problem: his two-horse carriage is broken. As the guards draw ever closer, Clementina must help Otto repair the carriage so they can flee together and reach the secret exit from Innsbruck!
