Money is nice and provides convenience. But does it really make one happy? Nicolas Daine is currently wondering the same thing. For years he has led a double life with which he earns a lot of money. He is a colonel in the Flemish army, but also maintains contacts with the army of the Prince of Orange. The latter promised Nicolas a large reward if he lost the battle of Hasselt on purpose. With a treasure in prospect, Nicolas accepted the offer. Only this could be his last move....
The Flemish army has been keeping a close eye on the colonel for some time. So too during his speech to announce his plan. Before Nicolas has finished speaking, someone shouts "high treason!" and the hunt is on. Nicolas has to get out of here! Quickly he jumps on his horse Blits and goes in search of Hasselt's great secret: the hidden exit. Will he manage to find that secret exit in time?
