Till Eulenspiegel is both famous and infamous in medieval Erfurt. He prefers to joke, but always in such a way that he also makes good money from it. The sly prankster now claims he can teach anyone to read and write! The locals laugh, but the professors challenge Till: "Prove it! Teach a donkey to read and write!"
