Jimmy Allen is well known and infamous in Durham and the surrounding area. With his bagpipes, he travels around and delights everyone with his music. That joy often disappears like snow in the sun when listeners find out they have been robbed. Jimmy is not only good with his fingers on the bagpipes, but he is also good at pickpocketing! Unfortunately, the tide turns for Jimmy and he is captured after one of his rampage....
Fortunately, Jimmy is allowed to bring his bagpipes. Beautiful music sounds from his cell and with it he captures the heart of damsel Mathilde. Blinded by love, she helps Jimmy escape and as thanks he gives her his bagpipes. Heartbroken, he leaves, leaving behind his great love. Would he ever get his bagpipes back?
