About Escape Tour mountains

It is Christmas 1664 when a large VOC merchant fleet embarks on the long journey back home. The ships are loaded with spices, silk, pearls and diamonds. The total value is estimated at more than eleven million guilders! To protect the precious cargo from the hostile English, the VOC decided to sail via neutral Bergen.


The ships have been underway for several months when the English get wind of the wealth on board. They are only too happy to have this cargo! The VOC enlists the help of admiral Michiel de Ruyter before the Battle of Bergen Bay breaks out on 12 August. The admiral is already in town, but now he must return to his fleet as quickly as possible. How does De Ruyter get to his ships quickly and unseen?
