Early in the morning, Peter prowls the now silent streets of Norwich. Years ago he was discovered as a foundling in the woods of Hamelin, where he lived free and unfettered among the animals. King George I became fascinated by all the stories about this wonderful boy and brought him to England. A living curiosity at court, no monarch has that! But it doesn't quite work out....
Peter does not understand why everyone stares at him like that and growls at onlookers. Human manners he never learned in nature. King George I has tried his best to teach him those manners, but Peter gets no further than a few words. While crawling, he wanders through the corridors of the court. Deep in his heart, Peter wants nothing more than to return to nature. In the palace he has heard people talking about a secret exit. Would it allow him to regain his freedom? Peter decides to take the gamble and sets out early.
