Colmar, 1789. There has been unrest in the French city of Colmar for some time. Tensions escalate when food shortages after a harsh winter lead to a mass protest by peasants and citizens. With brute force, the church and nobility put down the revolt and imprison many protesters. Martin Stockmeyer, one of the leaders of the revolt, does not leave it at that.
