A war is raging between the Italian cities of Bologna and Modena. On the side of Modena an important man is fighting: Enzio, king of Sardinia. After a fierce battle, the troops of Bologna take Enzio into custody. But when Enzio is told that they want to hold him until his death he goes into a blind panic.
After Enzio calms down a bit, he hears two guards arguing about a secret exit. It can't be true! Enzio knows that it is now or never and he manages to escape from his cell through an underground tunnel. Once outside there is only one thing to do, look for the secret exit of Bologna.
